#ACFridayFive
It’s that time again! Here goes another edition of AC’s weekly highlights reel.
#1 – Cruising Together – Our DP, Nick, owns a total of three bikes – four, if you count both seats on his 1972 Schwinn Twinn. That’s right, Nick is the proud owner of a tandem cruiser, and he loves nothing more than riding “bike” around town with a buddy. “People on the street smile whenever they see you,” he says. This week our Managing Director, TK, in town from Milwaukee, bravely joined Nick as co-pilot on his daily commute. Now how could you not smile at the sight of these two?

#2 – Living the Dream After years of directing and producing commercial ads, our good friends, Jesse Coane & Nick Read, decided it was time to take on a project without clients. They wanted to make, as Jesse put it, “Something personal…that wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for us.” The two already had a screenplay that they loved. So they pooled their savings and some Kickstarter funding, and spent the past nine months creating on their own terms. This week they released the first teaser trailer for their short film, Table For One, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for them. Way to go for it, guys.
#3 – Neighbors – As many of you already know, AC just relocated to an amazing space on Howard & Ninth, and we are loving our new hood. As if the proximity of Sight Glass Coffee weren’t enough, the area is teeming with artist’s spaces and galleries. Our current favorite is the super cool Alter Space at 1158 Howard. Check out their upcoming comic book workshop!
#4 – Party Time – As if managing pre-pro for a shoot this week wasn’t enough of a challenge, our fearless producer, Ava, hosted a dinner party on Wednesday to celebrate TK’s visit with the AC family and friends. It was fantastic. Wine flowed freely, fresh flowers dotted the table and Ava served up a vegan feast to satisfy even the most carnivorous of guests. The guest of honor made a custom playlist for the occasion, which you can enjoy here.
#5 – YachtBounce – Last but not least, this week AC correspondent @davidcsequeira turned us on to a new music micro-genre that is taking New Orleans by storm – YachtBounce. It’s basically “yacht rock” layered w/ the Triggaman drag-rap beat so prevalent in the bounce music we all love, and it is addictive. If this remix of Africa doesn’t pump you up for the weekend, we don’t know what will.
